Review: Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub

So, I was rushing to work in Swindon a couple of weeks ago, when 'Lush' caught my nose, and I was drawn in, only for a second.  I got my hands on one of these beauties:

I have super dry, chapped lips, especially during winter, which isn't good when trying to pull off seasonal dark-red lipstick.

I started applying this thinly, rubbing it in, and licking it off twice a week like the ever-so-friendly shop assistant suggested.  However, I noticed this technique wasn't really doing much and I didn't understand the hype.
I got a little confused by the packaging too, it's called bubblegum, but the little writing on the top says it tastes of "candy floss", I'm not that bothered because it smells amazing and is blinking yummy too!

About a month ago, I thought of softening my lips before I applied the scrub, don't know why that never occurred to me before.  I slapped on my maybelline baby lips, scooped up a generous helping of the lush scrub and got scrubbing.
I noticed as soon as I licked it off that it had actually worked and my mouth felt so much softer.

It's probably a little overpriced at £5.50 for 25g of what is basically just some caster sugar and oil.  I think if spending that means having super-soft, scrummy lips and your lipstick applies smoother then it's well worth the money.
